WiFi performance drops and lag for first 30 minutes then improves?

we have two new m17x r2's that have limited internet connections via wifi then after 20 or 30 or more minutes (never same) they seem to work better or fine. The games stutter or freeze or skip but I do not find it to be cpu or gpu throttling.

We have three m17x r3 models that have no issues so it's not our internet router. They also seem to work better if we set up a local server network thru steam and play among ourselves.
