Few years ago I installed the 5870m in my M17x, running happily ever since, mostly due to the fact I wasn't playing any particularly taxing games, so most of the times the gpu fan wasn't required. Lately I've been wanting to play some other games and have run into overheating issues. (Temperature steadily rises, fans never turn on no matter what the temperature is, heat is never dissipated and laptop eventually shuts off.)
