project server 2007 - project checkin failed at 37%

i have a problem with a project, since a week i'm no longer able to complete thecheck-in/publishing. the project seems to be corrupted.

- Updates from resources fails in to be applied
- cannot open the project with the MS Project client

any idea how to solve this problem?
