Need laptop for college.

Hello, I used to frequent this forum a long time ago and I thought you'd still be the people to ask. I am getting out of the military shortly and going to be using my G.I. bill to go to college (pursuing a computer science degree). I currently have a giant 17 inch laptop that I have no desire to lug around all the time jumping from outlet to outlet. It's been a longggg time since I looked for anything with portability in mind so I'm a bit out of my element. I greatly appreciate any help you...
