Everyday laptop for <$600

In the market for a new one since my Fujitsu T5010 of 7 years is slowly but surely dieing.

Basic uses are web browsing, e-mails, some work documents (word is sufficient) and movie watching (would like a nice screen). I am thinking something in the "15-"17 range is plenty sufficient. Not sure what is a good resolution these days.

My current specs are listed below and I would want at minimum these specs in their respective categories.

Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD
