It is around 6/7 months since the M6800 was released, and should be around 6/7 months before the M6900 is launched.

I must admit that the M6800 did not excite me, and I did not feel any urge at all to upgrade from my M6600 (which still works very well).

Technology however is moving forward, and a faster machine is always appreciated. With that in mind, I wanted to ask what you would like to see Dell realistically include in the M6900?

I have a problem.... I had a friend bring me a computer that was having issues. It would not turn on so I cleaned out the charging port because it was very dirty. It started to charge and the computer booted but would not load the OS. I can't remember if it gave me the white screen or the HD missing logo? I'm trying to get a focused, large thread so Dell/Alienware can no longer ignore our requests for a fixed fan profile in their new laptop BIOS releases. It is unacceptable that one has to downgrade to the release day BIOS version and request a larger power supply just to get the laptop to run the way it is intended without cooking the chipset above 85*C.

UX32VD - iSSD not detected

So about 2 weeks ago I bought the UX32VD with i7 and FHD screen
As you know it comes with 500gb harddsik, plus 32GB Sandisk iSSD for speedy data transfer on windows bootup and programs frequently used.

However since a few days ago (not sure), the iSSD can't be detected anymore and the expresscache isn't running.

I also tried to check from the BIOS and the SSD were not detected too (only the 500gb hdd).

Tried to install the expresscache utility but it also can't detect the SSD...

For M6500 owners its very similar, but because of the 16:9 it seems a lot wider.

Non IPS HD screen seems very decent.

Build quality seems to be as good as the M6500.

I bought my P650SE last year and have been playing BF4 for a while. Everything works fine except for one thing. For 4 months, 4 BSODs happened during playing BF4 and windows debug tool claims that it is the SynTp.sys that causes the problem. As far as I know it's the driver for the touch pad. Hi,

my XPS died yesterday, all by itself.
I closed the lid as usual, but when I wanted to open it (maybe 30min later), I noticed that the fan was running, and the bottom of the computer was really hot.
When I saw that it was stuck (no response, black screen), I hold the power button till it shut down.
And now, impossible to bring it back to life.....
When I hit the power button, the led lights for one to three seconds, then nothing.

I plan on flying across the ocean in the next few weeks and having just gotten my GS70 a little bit ago, I realized I really need a spare battery. Seeing as the laptop is NOT really designed for a second battery for easy swapping, that leaves me to use an external battery source. Are they released yet? I orignally found out about them trying to install Proset 16.0.0.0.3 but it turned out these only support the three variants of the 7260. A quick Google search later it looked like not a lot of websites are paying attention to this yet.

Hello.

Sometime ago I purchased, on reading this forum, a nvidia 68-m to replace the 560m I was running in my m17xr3, along with the heatsink required etc.

Possible GPU upgrade for Precision M4600

M6900 - What specs are you hoping for?

It is around 6/7 months since the M6800 was released, and should be around 6/7 months before the M6900 is launched.

I must admit that the M6800 did not excite me, and I did not feel any urge at all to upgrade from my M6600 (which still works very well).

Technology however is moving forward, and a faster machine is always appreciated. With that in mind, I wanted to ask what you would like to see Dell realistically include in the M6900?

Wow, I was not expecting another 15" chassis from Clevo but here it is: Review Intel Sandy Bridge Quad-Core processors - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

But I don't understand why Clevo used so much aluminum for the cooling the CPU. On the other hand the GPU seems to have a dedicated heatpipe for its memory, that's a step foward. Overall the cooling looks weaker than on the W8x0CU series.

Any Lenovo Yoga 3 14" 940M owners?

I've been looking for a good entertainment laptop for a while and the Lenovo looks great.
Mostly wondering how good the 1080p screen is on this model and if it's nice and vibrant with good brightness levels.
I realize the 940M is a entry level GPU but it can game at 720p at 30 FPS with most games at low to medium setting which is perfectly fine but was also wondering how hot the CPU and GPU get with extended gaming sessions?
Are the fans loud under load?
