NP5165 Screen Replacement Help

I broke the original screen from my Sager NP5165. Looking to replace it with a 95% gamut screen I found an original AUO B156HW01 v.4; however, when I got everything apart my 40 pin connector is on the wrong side.

My original screen is a LG LP156WF1 (TL) (E1) with the connector being on the right side (facing the back of the screen). The AUO is on the left.

Is there any way to get the AUO to work? If not do you guys know if a 95% gamut screen was made with this configuration that will...

Intel 7260?

Are they released yet? I orignally found out about them trying to install Proset 16.0.0.0.3 but it turned out these only support the three variants of the 7260. A quick Google search later it looked like not a lot of websites are paying attention to this yet.

One of the 3 supports AC, the other two seems to just differ in supporting vPRO or not (and N speed max!). All support bluetooth. I'll leave some Intel ARK links here if anyone is interested. Amazon has a page up but the item is...

I was curious instead of buying another monitor for dual screen and multi-tasking, is it possible to use a HDTV with HDMI ports for dual screening?

For example have e-mails open on one screen and a show playing, while I'm typing up an essay on my laptop screen.

Running into issues with driver updates for my 7970m. Whenever I attempt an update directly via AMD, I lose access to the discrete card, since the switchable capability my laptop expects is no longer there. The dell drivers themselves are quite old (2013) & they are definitely beginning to show their age, particularly with Witcher 3 right now. Hey all,

If you have read some of my previous Y410p issues, I've finally got it diagnosed. Essentially, the cache drive had errors in it and it ended up screwing up the new SSD that I installed. Canada Computers was able to wipe everything and do a clean install of Windows 8 on the SSD (Samsung EVO). I just had two questions.

1) Could I replace the default cache drive with a 128 GB SSD M.2 2242 NGFF SSD? If yes, do you think I could install the OS on it and leave it...

Hi, I've been having an issue with my frame rate dropping from a solid 60 down to 30 for about half a second and then going up immediately after.

I have a Razer Blade 2014 laptop(GTX 870M) and this occurs most frequently in GTA V. However, it also happens in games that are not demanding at all such as CS:GO. The overwhelming vast majority of reviews, both professional and amateur seem to give high praise to the new revisions of the Alienware lineup for 2015. Seeing the reviews on Alienware.com, MSstore.com, Amazon, and elsewhere everyone seems to be satisfied; however, the boards here seem like nothing but doom and gloom.

So I have a couple questions: Was the backlit keyboard for the dv6-3000 offered in CTO rigs or was it an aftermarket part? (i.e. would there be a chance that HP would offer a backlit keyboard as an aftermarket part for the dv6-6000 as well)

Hello guys,

Anyone like me, manually turn off the hibernate in win8 by using command prompt "pwrcfg -hibernate off"?

I found that the factory default of XPS 13 is in a "semi-hibernate" mode while you power off the machine, however I want a clean "shutdown" to make sure all cold start and shutdown leave without any previous sessions data.

I just got an Alienware 17 R2 with the 970M and 4720HQ. Although there are many post regarding the 180W power supply being inadequate when the laptop had the 980M, I noticed mixed comments for laptops with the 970M. I was able to borrow a 240W PSU from another Dell laptop, so I benchmarked using both the 180W PSU that the laptop came with and the 240W PSU using 3DMark06 and also 3DMark Fire Strike.

The benchmark results were virtually identical with either the 180W or 240W PSU.

Hi,

I'm sure I'm just paranoid here- but I just received my new laptop and I can't seem to detect the GPU it comes with (GTX 860M). I've tried Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 (with all updates). I've installed the Intel Drivers first (I believe it has got the Intel 4600 too) but still nothing.

When I try to install the Nvidia drivers- it says it can't be detected.

All drivers are from Clevo's official site.

It isn't listed in the device manager. I installed CPUID's "PC-Wizard" and it can't find...

This is something that was bothering me for a while — most mobile GPUs can't handle modern games at ultra very well. Does adding huge resolution screens help? Is there a benefit of having a full HD or 4k on a 15-17 incher?

I got a used 860M 1920x notebook and i am like "why?"... having 1600 or even 1440 would make it so much faster and i wouldn't need to read text that is like 4mm height.

I'm trying to get a focused, large thread so Dell/Alienware can no longer ignore our requests for a fixed fan profile in their new laptop BIOS releases. It is unacceptable that one has to downgrade to the release day BIOS version and request a larger power supply just to get the laptop to run the way it is intended without cooking the chipset above 85*C.

Wife and daughter turned their laptop over to me and said "Doesn't work" ... Sigh.
Last operations was by daughter and ended with closing the lid and leaving the laptop plugged in and charging.

Here are some basic steps to upgrade Alienware M18x R2 to Dual 980M SLI successfully. This configuration only tested Windows 8 or 8.1, it will not work with Windows 7.

1. Before replacing card, go to system Bios (keep your old graphics card inside system or not any graphics card installed). Then click on Boot tab, UEFI = Enabled, Legacy ROM = Disabled. F10 to save bios and Exit. After then turn off system.
